JE James Cycles have 3 stores across Yorkshire and Derbyshire and have been part of the local landscape for over 55 years. The business has come a long way from repairing and selling second-hand bikes in the early ’60s. Since then the company has gone from strength to strength, with 9% growth year on year in 2017 -18, building on our commitment to support every cyclist. Over the years our range has grown, offering over 20 of the biggest bike brands under one umbrella, with over 300 bikes on show at our flagship Rotherham branch, developing dedicated E-bike centres at each store and extensively training our team to support our customers at every turn. This huge range has enabled us to hold one of the largest demo events in the UK “Cyclefest” for the past 3 years. Our services have developed in-line with our range, with repair centres at each store, all with trained e-bike technicians. We also offer a range of other services from Elite Bike hire to the hugely successful Bike Box hire service, which went national in late 2018, with the home delivery and collection service.

All of our stores run weekly club rides and as part of our commitment to our network of cyclists in 2019, we launched the Club Kit Scheme enabling local teams to have their kit in-stock and ready to purchase online and in-store with no lengthy lead times, expensive single purchases with no upfront costs for the club. JE James design and purchase the kit in bulk supporting our network of clubs. Find out more: https://www.jejamescycles.com/cycle-kit-scheme.

TESTIMONIALS

For many cycling clubs, replacing or renewing their kit can be tiresome and costly. Depending on the kit provider, a minimum order is required and sizing is often an issue.

New clubs may also need assistance with designing their new kit and long-standing clubs may want to refresh their existing kit. JE James started their club kit scheme with a local cycling club. Their existing kit was re-vamped and a selection of new designs was offered, allowing the club members to select the one they preferred, before going into production.

Once a design has been agreed the club chooses items they need (shorts, jerseys, etc) agreeing a selection of sizes. JE James Cycles then has the kit produced and stocked at one of their retail stores without any initial outlay from the club.

For cycling clubs close enough to one of their three stores, the ability to try the kit before purchasing is a great positive. If the club wishes, a kit launch event can be arranged with members attending to try out the items on offer. The range of kit is also placed
for sale on their website ensuring the scheme is available to all cycling clubs nationwide.

Great bikes, great service. I no longer live in the area but still use the store.

Supporting Sheffield independent shops is what sheffielders do best. We love to shop local and JE James is no exception. JE James is Sheffield’s longest establishment bike shop and it’s one of the friendliest and knowledgeable shops I go to. I know it would mean a lot to the team that work there.
